How we make money

We work out every cost from each vendor's published list prices, at the usage, seats and billing cycle you enter. The tool that comes out cheaper gets the main button, whether or not it pays us. The same rule sets the top pick on alternatives pages and the order of every ranking.

Button labels follow the prices too: “Start” for the cheaper tool, “Visit” for the others, and “Get a quote” when a tool has no public plan at your volume. A tool with no public price at your volume can never come out cheaper. Whether a vendor pays us plays no part in any of this.

Pages that list per-token API prices show the rates side by side and never name a winner, so no button there is favored.

Every button to a vendor goes through our own short redirect, and lands in one of two places:

• Our referral link, when the vendor runs a referral program and has approved us. If you sign up, the vendor may pay us a fee or give us account credit. You pay the same price either way.
• The vendor's own sign-up page, for every other tool. We earn nothing from these clicks.

Both kinds of link tell the vendor the visit came from this site, so we can count which pages people find useful. We don't sell placements, and no vendor can pay to rank higher or to change the prices we show.
